Leeton Shire Council is seeking a motivated and skilled Arborist to join our Open Space and Recreation Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty of our community’s parks, reserves and streetscapes.
About the Role
In this position, you will provide high-quality arboriculture services, including but not limited to:
- Leading the development and scheduling of Council’s annual tree planting and tree maintenance programs
- Undertaking tree inspections, risk assessments, pruning, removals, and other arboriculture works
- Providing expert advice on tree health, management and planning matters
- Supporting the ongoing improvement and sustainability of Council’s urban forest
Qualifications and Experience
- We are looking for a team-oriented professional with experience in arboriculture, tree management, and open space maintenance.
- You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility and high-quality service delivery.
Salary and Conditions
- Grade 7 in Council’s salary system ($1,201.90 to $1,339.40 per week) depending upon qualifications and experience, plus 12% superannuation.
- This position is full-time – 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off.
- Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
- Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a “Functional Assessment” which includes an Alcohol and Other Drugs screening.
