EAP and wellness programs

Council’s Employee Assistance Program is available to all employees and provides confidential and free access to independent qualified counsellors to help clarify concerns or problems.

Wellness programs are provided throughout the year, e.g. annual Flu vaccination.

Rewarding Long Service Leave arrangements

After five years of continuous service, Council employees are entitled to 6.5 weeks of Long Service Leave, and receive additional increments after 10, 15 and 20 years of service.

Professional Development opportunities

Council supports employees with career progression by providing professional development and formal training opportunities.

Social networking

The social side of work life is important, and work life at Council provides for a friendly and open environment. Because we are not a massive employer, you are not treated as a number, and will get to know the people around you pretty quickly.

There are also opportunities to meet and socialise with colleagues outside of work hours, such as basketball and cycling groups, but you won’t be pressured into anything you don’t want to join. Joining our Social Club is optional, but this gives you a further way of getting to meet and interact with colleagues and families out of the work environment.
