Leeton Shire Council Welcomes Avtar Singh as Director Corporate / CFO

Leeton Shire Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Avtar (Avi) Singh as the new Director Corporate / Chief Financial Officer (CFO), commencing his role in February 2024.

With over two decades of professional experience in financial management, corporate services and procurement, Avtar brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. He has held senior management roles across various sectors including local government, not-for-profit, and commercial organisations in Northern Territory, Victoria, New South Wales, and North America.

Avtar holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Master of Business Administration, and is a proud member of CPA Australia.

Avtar Singh says he is pleased to join Leeton Shire Council and is enthusiastically looking forward to utilising his experience to contribute to the financial sustainability of Council as well as prosperity and growth of the region.

“I’m excited for this new chapter and look forward to working with my fellow staff and the elected Council. Reflecting on the recently exhibited 2022/23 Audited Financial Statements, the goal will be to steer Council towards a more sustainable footing, ensuring we can meet both present needs and future demands effectively,” he said.

General Manager Jackie Kruger expressed her confidence in Avtar's abilities, saying, "We are delighted to welcome Avi to our team. His extensive experience and qualifications make him a valuable addition to our Council, and we are confident that his expertise will greatly benefit our community."
