Starting 16 July 2025, Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) will begin maintenance works on their canal system. As a result, the Berembed Weir (Main Canal) will be temporarily closed (for approximately 4 – 8 weeks).

During this time, we’ll be relying on our raw water dam, which will be filled in advance to help support our supply. To make sure there's enough water for everyone, we kindly ask our community to use water carefully and responsibly during this period.

Here are a few simple ways to help:

  • Please avoid watering lawns
  • Turn off sprinklers if you can
  • Hold off on filling pools
  • Opt for showers instead of baths

We’ll keep you updated and let you know as soon as we have a reopening date for the canal from MI and when things return to normal.

Thank you for helping us conserve water during this essential maintenance period.
