Council Celebrates Youth Week 2024 with Myriad of Free Activities

Leeton Shire Council is delighted to announce the lineup of exciting events for Youth Week 2024, aimed at celebrating and empowering the young people of our community. From 15 – 20 April 2024, a diverse range of engaging activities will take place across various venues in Leeton.

Proudly funded by the NSW Government, all activities are entirely free of charge and tailored specifically for youth aged between 12 and 24 years old.

The week-long program includes a plethora of activities catering to various interests and passions of young individuals. Participants can look forward to:

  • Writing Seminar: Unleash your creativity in a three-day expressive writing course. All equipment will be provided;
  • Yoga & Basketball: Enjoy a pre-game yoga session designed to prepare you mentally and physically before showcasing your basketball prowess in a thrilling basketball shootout competition (with the chance to win 2 x basketballs valued at $100 each);
  • Zumba: Get your heart pumping with high-energy Zumba sessions held at the Leeton Indoor Stadium;
  • Paint and Pizza: Embrace your inner artist while enjoying delicious pizza with friends. Art supplies and pizza will be provided;
  • Pop Culture Quiz Night: Test your knowledge of all things pop culture in teams of 4-6 people in an entertaining quiz night extravaganza. Exciting prizes are up for grabs and attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite pop culture idol.

These events will be hosted at various locations throughout Leeton, including the Leeton Shire Library, Leeton Indoor Stadium, Leeton Tennis Clubroom, and Leeton Museum and Art Gallery.

Expressing her excitement about the upcoming Youth Week activities, Emma Di Muzio, Manager Community Development & Cultural Services at Leeton Shire Council, remarked, "Youth Week is a fantastic opportunity for young people in our community to come together, explore their interests, and create lasting memories. We're proud to offer a diverse range of activities that cater to the varied passions and talents of our youth."
