Leeton Shire Council is pleased to announce a series of engaging information sessions at the Leeton Shire Library in celebration of NSW Seniors Festival. The festival, which runs from 11 – 24 March 2024, aims to honour the invaluable role and contributions of older adults within our local communities.

NSW Seniors Festival is the largest celebration of its kind in the southern hemisphere, drawing over 500,000 attendees annually. This year's theme, "Reach Beyond", encourages seniors to explore new opportunities, challenge themselves, and continue to grow and thrive in their personal journeys.

The Leeton Shire Library is proud to host two free information sessions as part of the festivities:

  • Thursday, 14 March 2024, 10.00am – 11.30am
Tierney, Dowd, and Patrick Dawson Law Firm
Leeton Community Health – Tracks (transitional aged care program)
    Service NSW
  • Thursday, 21 March 2024, 10.00am – 11.30am
    Open Mobility Aids
    Leeton Physiotherapy
Leeton Community Health – Nutritional Health

Both days will offer insightful information and resources tailored to the needs and interests of seniors. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with various organisations and professionals, empowering them to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Morning tea will be available at both events, providing a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

Library Supervisor Rachel Cody expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming events, stating, "We're delighted to host these events as part of NSW Seniors Festival. It's a fantastic opportunity for our older community members to connect, learn, and celebrate their ongoing contributions to our vibrant community."
