Council is delighted to announce the completion of the new Yanco Off-Leash Dog Park, situated at McCaughey Bicentennial Park. The dedicated off-leash area provides a secure fenced perimeter, with ample space for dogs to socialise and exercise.

Voted into the 2022/23 budget in response to numerous community requests, the dog park spans across approximately 2,000 square metres, and features multiple access gates, shade and seating, a dog drinking bowl, and a bin and dog bag dispenser. The expansive off-leash area invites dogs to engage in lively games of fetch, frisbee, and other activities that promote physical fitness and mental stimulation.

Mayor Cr Tony Reneker expressed his excitement about the inauguration of the Yanco Off-Leash Dog Park, stating, "The opening of this dog
park is a significant milestone for not only residents in Yanco but also the wider Leeton Shire community. It provides a dedicated space for dogs to exercise and socialise, and offers another fantastic reason to visit the beautiful McCaughey Park.”

The playground upgrades are part of Council’s Playground Strategy which sets out how Council manages its playground network into the future, including an action plan specifying what will be done at each playground and in what year to ensure continual improvement at every playground in the Shire.
