Leeton Shire Council is pleased to deliver an exciting program of free activities these July school holidays, made possible through funding from the NSW Government’s Holiday Break Program.

The program has been thoughtfully designed to support creativity, wellbeing, and connection for young people across Leeton Shire, with a mix of hands-on workshops, experiences and interactive performances.

  • A highlight of the program is a painting workshop with local artist Chloe Boots, offering young people aged 12 to 18 years the opportunity to explore acrylic painting techniques including layering, colour mixing and brushwork. The workshop will be held at the Leeton Shire Library on Monday 6 July from 10am to 12 noon. Bookings are essential via sarahc@leeton.nsw.gov.au.
  • Youth Workshops with Joey Longford will be delivered on Thursday 16 July at the Whitton Skatepark (10am), Gossamer Park (12pm) and Leeton Skatepark (2pm). These sessions are open to participants aged 5 to 16 years and focus on connection, wellbeing and community engagement. Bookings are essential via sarahc@leeton.nsw.gov.au.

Leeton Shire Council’s Manager Community Development, Sarah Stewart, said the program ensures accessible and inclusive opportunities for local families during the school holidays.

“We are pleased to offer a range of activities that are free for our community, thanks to the support of the NSW Government. These experiences give young people the chance to learn new skills, connect with others and enjoy positive holiday experiences in a safe and supportive environment.”

All activities are free of charge through grant funding secured by Leeton Shire Council, however bookings are required as places are limited.

Council acknowledges the NSW Government for its continued support through the Holiday Break Program, enabling regional communities like Leeton Shire to deliver meaningful opportunities for children and young people.

The above activities will be complemented by the Library’s winter school holiday program, along with a range of fun experiences during the Art Deco Weekend, including Circus Shorts Skills Tasters at the Museum, and the Vacation Care program.
