Microchipping

Microchipping

It is important that dog and cat owners microchip and register their pets. Not only is it the law, but it allows us to return your pet to you should it ever become lost.

Dogs and cats must be microchipped by the time they are 12 weeks old. If you’re giving away or selling a pet, even if it’s under 12 weeks old, it is your responsibility to have them microchipped.

Once your dog or cat is microchipped, you will receive a Certificate of Identification, which you will need to register your pet.

Subsidised fees

Leeton Shire Council carries out subsidised microchipping all year round. Please refer to the Council's Revenue Policy and Fees Schedule (search 'microchip') for current costs.
