Manager Finance

Council is seeking applications from highly motivated, performance-oriented people to fill this important role at Leeton Shire Council.

The Primary Purpose of the Position is to:

•  Provide leadership and operational management of the Finance Department.

•  Prepare and manage all financial responsibilities of the Council, including Annual Operational

Budget, General Purpose Statements, Resourcing Strategy and Long-Term Financial Plans.

•  Provide sound financial advice to the General Manager, Councillors and staff, serving as lead financial offer for Council.

The applicant will hold a Degree in Accounting or Business Studies with at least five years relevant work experience or, if  no qualification, a  minimum of  10 years’ recent experience in  local government.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential as well as a high level of computer literacy in the use of a variety of software applications including MS Office Suite, web-based products and information management systems.

Salary  and  conditions:  The  position  is  Grade  19  in  Council’s  salary  system  ($102,304.80  - $114,582.00 per annum plus superannuation) depending upon qualifications and experience plus leaseback vehicle. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.  The full-time position is 35 hours per week with a monthly Rostered Day Off.

Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a “Drug and Alcohol” screening, “Medical Assessment” and “Criminal History Check”.
