Watsonia Lane to become one way

Leeton Shire Council will be making a traffic change over the next couple of weeks which will see Watsonia Lane become one way only entering from Linden Way and exiting onto Lily Lane.

Formal correspondence was received from a concerned resident requesting the change be investigated. Three formal complaints were also received by Council about the impending dangers of this road being two way.

Council’s Road Safety Officer Steph Puntoriero said that the main reasons highlighted in the request were the number of vehicles using the lane daily, very narrow lane with cement poles down one side, a sharp bend approximately 80 metres from the entrance to Lily Lane and blind spots on this particular bend.

Local motorists are being asked to be alert and careful as the new traffic arrangement is rolled out.

The one way changes will come into effect from Monday 5 March 2018.
