Roxy Redevelopment Committee Up and Running

As reported to Council at their March Ordinary Council Meeting, the Roxy Redevelopment Committee is currently in the final stages of gathering and reviewing feedback from the first round of community consultation with regard to the Roxy Redevelopment Project. The minutes of meetings held on 7^th February and 28^th February 2019 were submitted to Council for information.

The record states that on Thursday 21 February three community consultation sessions were held with close to 150 people in attendance across the three sessions.

Roxy Redevelopment Committee Volunteer Chair Katherine Herrmann and Council’s Manager Communications and Marketing Brent Lawrence have also met with several members from the local community individually to capture and listen to their questions, comments, concerns and ideas regarding the redevelopment project.

All comments and questions received regarding the redevelopment project have been compiled into a “Roxy Redevelopment Community Feedback Register” which will be forwarded onto the Project Team for their assessment. Submissions from community on this first round of consultation will close at 5pm this Friday 29^th March. The Register will be uploaded to Council’s website next week for all to read. The Register will be updated periodically as formal responses to each submission are received from the Project Team.

A “Questions and Answers” document will also be uploaded to Council’s website over the next 2-3 weeks to provide the general public with answers to some of the most common comments and questions that have been documented by community members.

A short film, titled the “Roxy Heritage Documentary” is being planned in collaboration with the National Museum Galleries of Australia with the intention to launch and showcase this documentary at the opening night once the redevelopment is completed.

The next iteration of concept plans will be shared with the community in the coming weeks, where after further community feedback will be invited.
