At its July Ordinary Council meeting Council noted progress provided by staff through the quarterly review of the Leeton Shire Council Delivery Program (2017-2021) and Operational Plan (2017/18) from 1 April to 30 June 2018 (Quarter 4).
Director of Corporate and Community Craig Bennett said that Council’s key activities are all linked to the six key themes and 20 strategies and actions that have been established within the Leeton Community Strategic Plan (CSP) “Leeton On The Go- Towards 2030”.
“It is pleasing to note that of the existing 213 actions included in Council’s 4-year Delivery Program and 2017-18 Annual Operating Plan, 14 (6.5%) have been completed and 163 (76.5%) are on track. Of the remaining actions, five (2%) are not due to start while 26 (12%) have been identified as needing attention. Five actions (2%) have been identified as being of critical concern. These matters relate to inspections of food and skin penetration premises (which has since been completed), sewerage treatment data, updating new residents kits and the completion of the Integrated Water Cycle Management Plan. This compares to the Quarter 3 update which had four (2%) actions completed, 173 (81%) on track, seven (3%) not due to start and 28 (13%) needing attention. In addition to this, there was one action of critical concern (1%).
Mayor Cr Paul Maytom congratulated staff on the level of detail that has been provided through the final quarterly report for the 2017/18 Financial Year to ensure councillors and residents were given the best possible snapshot on how various actions and projects are tracking along.
“Our aim is to provide residents and ratepayers with an honest, open and transparent update of how Council activity is tracking relative to what has been promised to the community over this current Council’s 4-year term.”
“Council is committed to making continuous improvements in how it does business and this final quarterly review of the 4-year Delivery Program and 2017/18 Annual Operating Plan further highlights that we are on the right path as a results driven Council striving for high quality performance and reporting.”
An Annual Report for the period 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018 will be prepared and tabled at the November Ordinary Council Meeting to be held on Wednesday 28th November.23-25 Chelmsford Place
