Proposal to permit additional types of residential accommodation in the Leeton CBD open for public comment

Leeton Shire Council has resolved to amend the Leeton Local Environment Plan to permit additional types of residential accommodation within the Leeton Central Business District (CBD).

One of the strategies identified through the Leeton CBD Enhancement Project aims to re-energise the CBD by allowing a greater range of residential accommodation that can be established, in order that a larger number of people will be permitted to live in or close to the main street area.

Currently only flats on the upper floors of existing shops are allowed.

Anyone who wishes to comment may do so by providing their thoughts to Council either via a written submission (letter or email to council@leeton.nsw.gov.au), completing the public consultation activity on Council’s Have Your Say Leeton community engagement website https://haveyoursay.leeton.nsw.gov.au/ or by contacting Council’s new Planning Officer Sarah Nash (picture attached) on (02) 6953 0928 for further information.

You must indicate in writing if you wish for your name and address to be withheld.

Submissions will close at 4pm on Friday 11th May 2018.
