Projects revoted into 2018-19 Financial Year

Leeton Shire Council has adopted the revoting of six capital works and two operational projects which were not completed in the 2017/18 financial year into the 2018/19 Budget.

Council’s Manager Finance Jackie Hawkins stated in her report to Council that the revotes were requested by the relevant Responsible Council Officers and have been reviewed and authorised by Council’s Senior Management Team.

“$392,378 worth of capital projects and $140,425 of operational projects have not been completed for various reasons during the past financial year. Approval must by sought from Council to revote the expenditure into the 2018/19 Operational Plan.”

Projects that have been revoted include:

• Information Technology Special Projects- $84,800. This was originally voted by Council on 22 February 2017 but has been delayed due to a review of the IT strategic direction.

• Street Lighting LED Upgrade- $55,625. This was originally voted by Council on 22 February 2017. The upgrade works were completed at a cost to Council of $219,713. Funding will cover approved street lighting along dark areas of shared path out to Wattle Hill as well 6 additional street lights along Wamoon Avenue service road.

• Roxy Theatre- $70,000. Council previously approved the setting aside of $70,000 per year for 3 years to fund the detailed design plans for future capital works at the Roxy Theatre. This revote request is for the 2nd year of that funding.

• Public Art Project (Lyrics, Landscapes and Lintels)- $69,378. The grant funding for this project was received in May 2017. The project commenced in 2017/18 but has not been completed as at 30 June 2018.

• Depot Shed- $30,000. This project was revoted by Council on 23 August 2017 and has yet to commence.

Other projects carried over into this financial year include Almond Road ($110,000), Gravel Resheeting ($66,000) and General Drainage ($47,000).
