The latest craze surrounding Pop Up Art around the world has hit Leeton Shire.
‘Sculpture Bombing’ as it has been referred to is an exciting new initiative where residents won’t know when or where an artwork will pop up around Leeton Shire or for how long it will remain in that location.
Council’s Events and Cultural Services Coordinator Sues Vos said that Pop Up Art supports professional and emerging artists to showcase their creativity and innovation in regional communities such as Leeton.
“Pop-Up Art is the perfect way to both promote local artists and market our Shire.”
A local artist currently involved is Tobias Bennett from Tobias Sculptural Metal who has a temporary artwork installed in Chelmsford Place.
If you own property that would be great as a pop up location, or if you are an artist with Public Art, please get in touch with Leeton Shire Council Events and Cultural Services Coordinator Sues Vos on (02) 6953 0922 or email suesannv@leeton.nsw.gov.au
If you’re not an artist but enjoy the Pop-Up Art that you begin to see around Leeton Shire please take some pictures and post to Facebook and Instagram with the hashtags #SculptureBomb #VisitLeetonMEDIA ENQUIRIES
