Leeton Shire Council in collaboration with Sharmill Films will be screening four National Theatre Live programs throughout 2019. These titles, recorded at the National Theatre London, include William Shakespeare’s Antony & Cleopatra and The Tragedy of King Richard the Second as well as David Hare’s I’m Not Running and Alan Bennett’s ALLELUJAH.
Leeton Roxy Community Theatre Coordinator Sam Webber said that these titles will bring a new flavor to the long running cinema which typically screens mainstream films.
‘We hope that by including titles such as these in the Roxy’s program, it will cater for a more diverse range of audiences and demographics, offering entertainment as well as educational material that may coincide with local schools’ English and drama curriculums.’
These titles will be screening from Friday 1st March 2019, beginning with Antony & Cleopatra and will be intertwined with the current program through the remainder of the year.
