Leeton Aquatic Centre Progress Update

Council had anticipated the Leeton Aquatic Centre would be ready to open in

December 2020 but due to an unforeseen equipment supply issue resulting from COVID-19, recent inclement weather and some unexpected site conditions, the new pools are expected to now open in late January 2021 and the new slide in March 2021.

Council understands that many residents were looking forward to an earlier opening date particularly with the warmer weather approaching and appreciates the community’s understanding and patience.

“Council is very pleased with the superb quality of the redevelopment works so far and is working closely with our contractor to deliver an outstanding state-of-the-art facility that we can all enjoy in the New Year and for many years to come,” said Council’s Director Operations Peter Keane.

 “We will keep the community updated on a confirmed opening date via Council’s website and Facebook page.”

In the meantime, the Whitton Pool and Yanco Splash Pad is open for use.
