Leeton Shire Council endorsed the reimbursement of surplus Riverina and Murray Regional Organisation’s fees, being an amount of $13,264.20, to the newly established Riverina and Murray Joint Organisation (RAMJO).
The cessation of the Riverina and Murray Regional Organisation of Councils (RAMROC) as at 30 June 2018 resulted in Leeton Shire Council receiving a refund payment of its membership fees in the amount of $13,264.20.
Mayor Paul Maytom stated that Council’s agreeance to reinvest the surplus funds back to RAMJO would ensure the building of working capital for the new Joint Organisation.
“As a joint organisation we aim to get things done, not just talk. The reinvestment of the funds to RAMJO will give member Councils the chance to action our strategic planning and priority setting exercises. This group also plays a major role in advocating and engaging with Governments and key stakeholders to facilitate future infrastructure development to ensure the long term sustainability, wellbeing and livebaility of our region.”
RAMJO comprises of the following Councils: Leeton, Albury City, Balranald, Berrigan, Carrathool, Edward River, Federation, Griffith City, Hay, Murray River, Murrumbidgee, Narrandera and Wentworth.
