Council notes March quarterly review

Leeton Shire Council noted its latest quarterly budget review at the May Ordinary Council Meeting held on Wednesday 22 May.

Council’s Manager Finance Jackie Hawkins stated in her report to Council that the Quarterly Budget Review is a primary reporting document required to measure how Council is performing against the Revised Budget for 2018/2019.

Highlights of Council’s latest Quarterly Budget Review were as follows:

• The projected Consolidated Operating result before capital amounts improved from the original budgeted deficit of $1,507,150 to a deficit of $190,810 at 31 March 2019, an improvement of $1,316,340 for the full year and $512,519 for the quarter.

• Capital projects increased by $224,456. These projects are the WCIC Building Renovations of $209,000 and the replacement of the net climber on the playground at Central Park.

Council’s Director Corporate and Community Craig Bennett said he was pleased that Council was on track to finish the financial year with a small surplus.
