Have you recently moved to the Leeton Shire or are you considering a tree change?
Leeton Shire Council has developed a welcoming and informative New Residents’ Kit to
provide new residents with an introduction to services, facilities and places in the Shire.
Council’s Communications Coordinator Mrs Monica Armanini said it’s been a pleasure to lead the development of the New Residents’ Kit is consultation with various Council officers
and external groups over the past few months.
“The kit contains information such as aged and disability services, emergency services,
medical facilities, education providers, family services, sporting and recreational activities,
religious organisations, general businesses, Council property services and more,” said Mrs
Armanini.
Leeton Shire Council Mayor Paul Maytom said he welcomes new residents to the Shire and
that he is proud of the Shire’s many highlights including a welcoming, inclusive community.
“Leeton Shire offers a rich heritage, diverse agricultural production and manufacturing,
quality health, education and sporting services, affordable housing, strong community
spirit and much more.
“Leeton Shire Council hopes that the information contained in the New Residents Kit
provides all newcomers with an introduction to services, facilities and places in the Shire,
assisting them to feel welcome and settle in smoothly,” said Mayor Maytom.
The New Residents’ Kit will be reviewed internally at least once a year by Council’s
Community Services team to ensure the document is kept current and relevant.
Feedback from the community is also encouraged.
The New Residents’ Kit will be available online on Council’s website being the most cost
effective and accessible method for the wider community.
Printed copies for reading will also be available at the Library, the Visitors Information
Centre, the Multipurpose Centre and the Council administration building.
