Council wishes to advise that Almond Road shoulder widening works have unfortunately experienced a delay in completion which will now see completion of the works between the Easter and ANZAC holiday periods.
Council’s Manager Roads and Drainage Chris Lashbrook said that the shoulder widening has been left open to traffic for several weeks to reduce the possibility of any surface failures occurring after sealing works is completed.
“These sealing works were programmed to occur at a similar time to the completion of works on another project, however Council’s contractors were unable to complete both projects in the time they had allocated.”
“Council’s Roads Team will complete some remediation works on the Northern side of Almond Road as well as keep water on the site for dust suppression until the works are finalised.”
The sealing of the shoulder widening and some additional works to be undertaken along the supply channel side of Almond Road, will now be undertaken the week commencing 22nd April 2019.
Following the completion of the shoulder widening works there will be some minor works undertaken including line marking along the drainage channel and installation of guideposts to complete delineation.
