About Cr Tracey Morris

Tracey Morris has been a Councillor on Leeton Shire Council since December 2012.

Cr Morris was born and raised in Leeton attending St Joseph’s Primary School and St Francis College until her completion of Year 10 when she then went to boarding school attending St Josephs in Albury to complete Year 11 and 12.

Tracey has a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Tourism Management. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia) and has undertaken a range of other courses as part of her professional development in the various high level financial management roles she has held over many years. She is currently the Business Manager of Kooba Ag Pty Ltd, with Kooba Station being a significant agricultural business in our Shire.

Tracey has also been involved in a family citrus farming and packing business for 36 years Leeton Citrus Growers and Riverina Citrus during this time. She has had many years’ experiences of being on committees of Leeton Pre-School, St Joseph’s Primary School, St Francis College, Little Athletics, Leeton Netball Association, Leeton Cricket Association, Riverina Agricultural Women, Women in Rice and Horticulture and Leeton Tourism Committee whilst working and raising her family.

Tracey has assisted in bringing Parkrun Australia to Leeton in 2021 and encourages the community to come together in a social and healthy weekly community event.

Tracey is a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation having been a recipient of the wine industry scholarship in 2014, whilst working for De Bortoli Wines. She is passionate about rural communities remaining strong and resilient whilst effectively and efficiently utilising resources available for a sustainable future.

The opportunities recently available to renew and upgrade major shires assets is unique and her aim is to ensure they are bought to completion are fit for purpose and relevant for future needs.

Her strong business, financial and agricultural skills are a major advantage that she brings to the Council meeting table.
