Leeton Shire Council’s Community Development Team work proactively in the community to support and extend our young people physically, mentally, socially and recreationally. We are proud to have an engaged Youth Committee who plan, coordinate and implement youth events and activities. This Committee also acts as a voice for local youth on important topics and projects happening in the Shire.

Each year Council sponsors two of our young people to attend the National Young Leaders Day forum in Sydney and provides support to youth regionally through collaborative organisation of the Youth Mental Health Forum held annually in May.
The Leeton Early Learning Centre is owned and operated by Leeton Shire Council. It provides a quality, age appropriate Early Childhood Education in a safe and supportive indoor and outdoor environment, which is responsive to the needs of each child and their family in our community.
This Centre provides Education and care for 60 children per day, 5 days per week, 50 weeks of the year and operating from 7.45am to 5.45pm each weekday. There are 2 cooks who share the week providing all children with nutritionally balanced meals including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
There are 3 classrooms within the centre including:
The Rainbow Room – caters for 16 children aged 0-2 ½ years. The Rainbow Room has 4 staff including Diploma trained Room Leader and 3 Educators
The Sunshine Room - caters for 24 children aged 2 ½ - 3 ½ years. The Sunshine Room has 4 staff including Early Childhood Degree qualified Room Leader and 3 Educators.
The Preschool Room – caters for 20 children aged 3 ½ - 6 years. The Preschool Room has 2 staff including Early Childhood Degree qualified Room Leader and 1 educator.
All Educators and staff are appropriately qualified and the Centre meets all educator to child ratio requirements.
The Centre has 3 additional floater educators who cover educators off the floor as well as 3 Inclusion Support Educators working throughout the week caring and educating children with additional needs.

Catering for primary school aged children this service provides education and care during after school hours from 3.10 to 6pm on school days. Located in the grounds of the Parkview Public School with bus drops off from all schools available to the Centre. For further information and completion of enrolment forms please contact the Centre Coordinator or the friendly staff on (02) 6953 5788 from 3pm-6pm Monday to Friday.
In conjunction with the Out of School Care service, a range of fun activities and excursions are provided to school aged children to keep them busy during the school holidays. This service runs from 8am to 6pm during school holiday periods.
