About Cr Tony Ciccia
Tony Ciccia is a first term Councillor of Leeton Shire Council.
Cr Ciccia has lived in Leeton all of his life. In 1931 his grandfather purchased farm 136 Ciccia Road Leeton, which Tony and his family still own and operate today.
In his earlier years he attended Stoney Point Primary School. Moving on from there he went to St Francis De Sales College before completing his HSC at Leeton High School.
After finishing high school be obtained a Diploma in Horticulture at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.
Upon completing these studies Tony returned to Leeton working on the family farm as well as Yanco Agricultural Institute as a farm assistant. After leaving employment at Yanco Agricultural Institute he acquired his own business, The Leeton Fish Shop, which he owned and operated for 7 years.
The Ciccia family have a long family history of commitment to Leeton Shire. Tony’s father Sam served as a Councillor on Leeton Shire Council for 21 years. Tony said that his Dad always instilled in him that being a councillor was a very rewarding experience as it enabled him to make a positive contribution to the development of Leeton. This is something Tony is also very passionate about doing during his first term as a Councillor.
Tony feels that his hardworking and approachable nature combined with his farming background and business experience provides him with a solid foundation to be a strong voice for the towns and villages of Leeton Shire.
He is a member of the Leeton District Citrus Association having been involved with this association for more than 20 years and is also a member of the Italian Catholic Committee. As an active community member he strives to attend and support as many community events as possible.
