About Cr Michael Kidd Deputy Mayor

Michael Kidd brings over 8 years’ experience as a Councillor on Leeton Shire Council.

Cr Kidd first came to Leeton for 'two years' back in 1982 extending his stay slightly to the last 35 years.

Michael grew up in the NSW Hunter Valley region. He is the Radiographer at Leeton District Hospital.

What he loves most about the Leeton community is the friendly people and generous spirits of our residents.

Cr Kidd gains great enjoyment from serving the community in the hope of making a strong contribution on behalf of the ratepayers of Leeton Shire. He feels that as a returning councillor there are always projects that you would like to see finished. The next four years are going to be exciting and crucial to Leeton's future and Michael is very pleased that he will be a big part of the action and decisions made by Council.

He is the current Chairman of the Roxy Theatre Committee, Secretary of the Leeton Tidy Towns Committee, Leeton Hospital Auxiliary member, Leeton United Football Club committee member, former Chairman of the Leeton Preschool Committee, former member of the St Joseph's School Council and a former member of the Leeton Tourism Committee.

Over the next four year term of Council he sees the immediate priorities as being to maintain our "stand alone" status with regard to Fit for the Future NSW Government reforms, improving the Leeton CBD area, creating dedicated transport corridors for both road and rail transport, redeveloping the Leeton Swimming Pool Complex, creating an environment that encourages growth and jobs and to improve the quality of life for Leeton Shire residents.
